Story Hour is a casual environment in which to practice influential storytelling. 

Today's story prompt: What moments in your personal life offer lessons that you use in your work? Before the event, we encourage you to take 5-10 minutes reflecting on that question to identify a story to share.

We chose this prompt because a lot of people come to us describing work that is too “data-oriented” or “boring” to lend itself to stories. They just can’t make the connection. And yet, personal stories can offer metaphors that bring to life a topic or challenge you are navigating at work. Once you identify a few great personal stories that you can use to draw parallels in your work, you’ll find a plethora of ways to integrate them into work communications.

If you have a story, we encourage you to volunteer to share it during Story Hour. We also welcome your participation as a listener and as part of our feedback group.
