Developing Leaders who Engage and Inspire in a Hybrid Workplace
Developing Leaders who Engage and Inspire in a Hybrid Workplace was a Roundtable Conversation that took place on Oct 04, 2022.
The event was intended as forum for thoughtful conversation about the future of leadership development.
As companies increasingly move toward global teams that are interacting in virtual or hybrid environments, it’s critical that leaders are able to engage and inspire their people from wherever they are. The ad hoc watercooler conversations are gone and replaced with a variety of communication and collaboration tools. L&D leaders must think creatively about the skills organizations cultivate in their leaders.
In this conversation with L&D leaders, we discussed new ways of thinking about how L&D can effectively develop leaders to engage and inspire others in (and for!) today’s hybrid context.
We tackled these questions:
When is it the right choice to engage fully virtually, fully in-person, or in a hybrid cross-over environment?
What is a routine, habit, or skill of leaders who engage and inspire in a hybrid environment? How might we encourage the development of that routine, habit, or skill?
What is something you’ve learned about how to develop leaders in and/or for a hybrid environment?
What do leaders need from their organization to be empowered to effectively engage and inspire in a hybrid workplace?
Additional input was also collected from roundtable audience members via the live chat feature as well as a digital survey after the event. These insights have been included in this summary as well.
